Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay (Washington)

I am currently staying at the "Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay" in Vancouver, WA while attending a Pacific Northwest Dispatchers Workshop for a couple days.

The hotel is easily seen from I-5, and sits on the waterfront with outstanding views from their top quality restaurant and from many of the rooms. The staff are very friendly, the rooms large and comfortable, with a nice selection of amenities to include: swimming pool, exercise room, free internet, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, cable television, and more. The rooms are large, with very comfortable beds, sofa chairs with ottomans, and for those who need to work while they are here - a very nice desk with padded office chair!

Rates are very good with the usual discounts for government and other programs. There are several nice walking paths along the waterfront, and several restaurants close by for those wishing to eat somewhere other than the restaurant located at the hotel.

All in all, I would recommend the "Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay" for anyone planning a stay in Vancouver, WA - especially for meetings or trainings, as there is a very well set up conference area.

King and I Thai Cuisine - Kennewick, WA

A couple of weeks ago, we had to drive up to Kennewick, Washington and stumbled upon a wonderful Thai Restaurant while looking for a place to eat lunch.

The "King and I Thai Cuisine" located in Kennewick, Washington, has an amazing menu filled with a large variety of Thai dishes. If you arrive between 11:30 - 2:00, Monday through Friday, be sure and take advantage of their outstanding lunch buffet which at the time of our visit was only $8.99! The buffet has several types of soup, curries, tossed green salad (with an exquisite homemade dressing), 6 or 7 types of main dishes, and of course rice. They also offer a wine bar daily from 5:00pm to closing and offer a wonderful variety of quality wines.

The servers are very attentive - your water glass is never empty. The owner of the restaurant often chats with patrons and even pitches in to refill water and the contents of the buffet.

If you are hungry and enjoy top-quality Thai food, make a point of stopping by "King and I Thai Cuisine" located at 6030 Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick, WA.
